The developers promise to pay special attention to the details so that visitors can immerse themselves in the world of the popular game as much as possible.
The world’s first themed space dedicated to Minecraft will open next year at the British Chessington World of Adventures park, and now there’s another reason to look forward to its opening. According to The Independent, Merlin Entertainments and Mojang Studios have announced that the world’s first hotel dedicated to Minecraft will also open on the park’s premises in 2027.
After a day spent exploring the theme park, fans of the game will be able to continue their adventure in the Overworld by staying in one of the nearly 70 themed rooms.
According to the authors, Merlin’s creative project producer, Daisy Mercedes, shared what to expect from the new hotel.
“Fans will not only be able to see the game come to life in the real world, but also literally spend the night inside it, so that after “rebirth” they will be exactly where they want, ” she said.
What will the Minecraft-style hotel look like?
In the new hotel, guests will be able to find themselves in familiar locations from the game, recreated in the real world. These include Overworld, Nether, and caves.
In total, there are 69 themed rooms: 20 premium rooms; 49 standard rooms in the style of Minecraft; a themed restaurant with immersion in the atmosphere of the game; a bar with potions, decorated in the style of a forest mansion (Woodland Mansion).
There is no exact opening date for the hotel yet. It is only known that it is expected to start operating in 2027 – at the same time as the Minecraft themed world in Chessington.
Meanwhile, those who are planning a trip to Chessington or want to stay there overnight are advised to book tickets and accommodation online in advance. This can save up to 50% compared to prices when buying tickets directly at the entrance.
The park will feature the Escape the Nether attraction.
Earlier this year, Minecraft fans learned about the creation of the first themed park dedicated to the popular game. At that time, the organizers revealed only the general details of the future location. It is expected that it will feature a building zone made of blocks for younger visitors, interactive entertainment, and themed food establishments.
Now it has become known that the main attraction at Minecraft World will be the roller coaster Escape the Nether. Guests will be able to go on a high‑speed ride through dark mines in the covered part of the attraction, and then experience a spectacular exit through a portal from the Nether to the Overworld. The route includes unexpected turns and other elements that are designed to add tension to the ride.
“We’ve thought through everything — from the scale of the blocks to how mobs and biomes will come to life in the real world. Our goal is to create an atmosphere that’s as true to Minecraft as possible and to give guests the opportunity to experience the game in a completely new way,” explained Philip Kitley Thoms, creative lead for Minecraft Parks and Experiences at Mojang Studios.

The oldest hotel in the world
It should be noted that the Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan hotel operates in Japan and is officially recognized as the oldest in the world. The Keiunkan was founded in 705 AD by the Japanese aristocrat Fujiwara Mahito.
The establishment has been operating continuously for over 1,300 years, and it has been run by the same family for 52 generations. The hotel is located in Yamanashi Prefecture, not far from the famous Mount Fuji.
