A vacation here will be much cheaper than in the real Maldives.
When it comes to a tropical paradise, the Maldives fits the bill with its white-sand beaches and turquoise sea. The only problem is that the Maldives is one of the most expensive resorts, and not everyone can afford it. Not to mention its significant distance from Europe.
However, there is actually a great alternative to the Maldives on our continent. At least, that’s what a travel blogger named Scott believes, who shares his travel experiences on his Instagram.
A small and relatively cheap European country has beautiful beaches with clear water, and in recent years, it has also developed a modern level of service. A low-cost flight to this country is cheaper than a meal at a budget restaurant. This is Albania and its resort of Ksamil.
In a video posted on Instagram, Scott showed a white sandy beach with azure water and cozy bungalows by the water, which could indeed be mistaken for the Maldives if you didn’t know where it was filmed.
The blogger was particularly impressed by the fact that all of this is incredibly cheap compared to the famous archipelago.
“The most unexpected find in Europe!!! Budget-friendly Maldives, what a place!”, Scott wrote in the video’s description.
Despite the blogger’s enthusiastic reviews, the comments were divided.
“It doesn’t look like it… I fell for this scam last summer, “one user wrote, while another agreed, calling Xamil a” tourist trap.”
However, in response to these comments, many users noted that a lot depends on the date of the resort’s visit. In particular, they recommend visiting Xamyl in early or late summer, when the main tourist flow has already subsided.
“It’s as peaceful and beautiful as it is in the video. I visit Albania every year, and I can say that the video perfectly captures its beauty,” emphasized one of the users.
