Why North Macedonia Delivers Incredible Value for Travelers

The Spaniard said that this Balkan country exceeded all her expectations and shared information about how much a holiday actually costs.

One of the most affordable countries in Europe is once again attracting the attention of tourists – this time thanks to a video that went viral on social media. This is reported by the publication Mediafax.

A tourist from Spain said that North Macedonia completely captivated her – primarily due to its low prices and impressive landscapes.

According to her, this country is one of the cheapest in Europe for tourists. Flights from Spain cost approximately 60 euros round trip, and accommodation can be found for as little as 30 euros per night.

Everyday life is also quite affordable: you can get a traditional meal here for about 5 euros, and you can also rent a car to travel around the country without incurring high costs.

The oldest lake in Europe

Among the places that impressed the tourist the most was Lake Ohrid, which is considered the oldest lake on the continent, as well as the cities included in the UNESCO list.

The traveler describes a variety of impressive places: monasteries hidden in the mountains, churches built on cliffs or partially submerged in water, canyons with sheer walls, and villages where time seems to have stood still.

A capital that surprises with its contrasts

The country’s capital, Skopje, attracts attention with its eclectic style – here you can see giant statues, monumental bridges, and an old bazaar built in the Ottoman style, which creates a completely different atmosphere.

Furthermore, North Macedonia is one of the important wine‑producing regions in the Balkans, so tourists can try local wine at very low prices.

Apart from the landscapes and prices, what impressed the tourist the most was the attitude of the people. She noted that the locals welcome guests with openness and warmth.

Another advantage is the absence of tourist crowds: many local attractions are not yet overcrowded, which allows you to experience the genuine, authentic atmosphere of the country.

Therefore, North Macedonia remains an unexpected discovery for those seeking a budget‑friendly yet experience‑rich trip.
