A picturesque hiking trail over 100 kilometers long has been created in Mallorca

The route will take you along the less visited eastern coast of the island.

The Spanish island of Mallorca is famous for its incredible nature, which is why it is a favorite among hiking enthusiasts. And there’s good news for them!

According to The Independent, a new 65-mile (about 105-kilometer) hiking trail has opened in the less-visited part of Mallorca.

Where will the new route go?

The trail will run along the island’s eastern coast, Levant, which is famous for its mountain range, Serra de Levant, and picturesque beaches, including Cala Ratjada and Porto Cristo.

Now, tourists can explore it along the Gran Recorrido del Llevant hiking trail, which is divided into four approximately equal sections, with a maximum elevation gain of 248 meters per day.

Sections of this long trail include a route that connects the coast of Cala de Mallorca with the interior through pine forests and vineyards to Manacor.

After arriving in Manacor, the walk continues along traditional farms and dirt roads, past the Embroidery Museum, to Son Carrio.

From here, the route takes you through the interior landscapes, coastal areas, and mountainous regions between Son Carrió and Arta, and the final stretch is from Arta through the historic village of Capdepera to the coastal town of Cala Mesquida.

The main attractions on the route include Capdepera Castle, Cala Rahada Lighthouse, Sant Joan Baptista Church, and the Son Carrió Railway Museum.

Two access points have also been created in Son Masia and on the Costa dels Pins for shorter starting and ending points of the route, to meet the needs of tourists of all levels of training.

Additional information, including maps and download links, can be found on the Gran Recorrido del Llevant website.
