Five Italian cities were included in the list.
Gastronomic tourism is experiencing rapid growth: according to a study by Acorn, a travel website, three-quarters of travelers are now choosing their vacation destination based on their gastronomic experiences. Titan Travel experts analyzed the availability of culinary courses, ratings, prices, and global search demand to identify the top 10 best cities in the world for gastronomic travel.
According to DailyMail, Italy dominates this list, with five of its cities being named some of the best in the world for food lovers.
Florence takes the top spot on the list, and there are good reasons for this, according to the publication. The city offers 231 cooking classes, 74.5% of which have a four-star rating or higher.
Florence is known for its meat dishes, such as “Bistecca alla Florentina,” a thick bone-in steak. Another regional delicacy is lampredotto, a unique sandwich made from beef stomach. Don’t miss the local gelato, and since it’s Italy, the pizza and pasta will also be excellent.
In second place is Palermo, the capital of Sicily, with 50 cooking classes and an outstanding rating of 88% of hotels with four stars or more.
Bologna, known for its bolognese sauce, is third on the list.
In fourth place is Lisbon, Portugal, known for its iconic dessert, pastel de nata.

Food is a great way to do this because it connects you directly to the local culture and traditions. The most memorable experiences often come from local chefs and family-run restaurants, where you can not only learn about the recipes but also hear the stories behind them.”
