A new direct train will connect three charming Scandinavian cities this summer

The new route will operate daily in both directions.

Scandinavia will become even more accessible to travelers this summer. The Swedish operator Snälltåget is launching a new direct train route that will connect Malmö, Gothenburg, and Oslo.

This is reported by Time Out. The start of transportation is scheduled for June 15, which is the beginning of the tourist season.

The new service will run daily in both directions. The train will depart from Malmö to the Norwegian capital, passing through the west coast of Sweden. All services departing from Malmö will include a Krogen restaurant car for passengers.

As noted, the northern flight will depart from Malmö Central Station at 6:38 a.m. and arrive in Oslo at 1:13 p.m. In the opposite direction, the train will depart at 2:48 p.m. and arrive in Malmö at 9:25 p.m.

The route will take you along the picturesque coast of Western Sweden, with stops in Lund, Helsingborg, Halmstad, Varberg, Trollhättan, and the Norwegian cities of Sarpsborg and Fredrikstad. Although the train will not stop at Gothenburg Central Station, passengers can use the Västtrafik commuter trains from Melndal or Gamlestaden, which the route passes through.

Convenient transfers and affordable tickets

Malmö offers convenient connections to other popular destinations, such as Copenhagen, Hamburg, and Berlin. This new route can be part of a larger journey through Northern Europe.Advertisementad

Tickets are already available for dates up to October 28. The starting price is 149 Swedish kronor, which is approximately 14 euros, making it a competitive alternative to air travel, according to Time Out.
